Hundreds under a Hundred, echoes Miller’s idea of what the gallery experience should be - abundant, a mixture of student, emerging, mid-career and well-known artists; relevant to the community. Over sixty artists have been invited to exhibit small works in this un-themed “holiday” show. Each artist was requested to submit works under 12”x12” that are priced under a hundred dollars. The artists work in many different media including but not limited to: painting, photography, felting, printmaking, wall sculpt
ure and drawing. The show is also unusual in that it wishes to mix functional, craft-based and studio/fine-art based work in one exhibition; seeing all forms on equal footing.
PermaDirty is located on the second floor of the Packing House in Claremont: 532 West First Street, Unit 219, Claremont, CA 91711. Hundreds under a Hundred opens Friday, December 7th from 7-10 PM and runs through February 15th, 2012.
